Exploring the Norfolk Village

A fascinating study presented by an expert speaker

Poppyland Publishing 2006, UK

Christopher Barringer, for many years a lecturer at the University of Cambridge Dept. of Extra-Mural Studies, looks at fourteen Norfolk villages to show how their geography (in a valley, on the coast, near a main road, etc.) helped determine the sort of lives lived there. Villages featured include Binham, Worstead, Cawston and Burgh-next-Aylsham.

An excellent film, strongly recommended.

Look out for the photo of Beeston Hump in the intro!

Peter Stibbons, whose company made the film, will introduce it for us as he did Cromer in the Second World War in Nov. 2013.
